An unscripted, conceptual episode: the hosts feel “something is happening” (SaaS and security stocks falling, agents since around October 2025 running far longer and more reliably) and share predictions. The new skill is managing human attention across parallel agents, as an “agent team lead”. Most developers, especially in enterprises, are far from the frontier. Unlike past shifts, intelligence itself becomes a commodity that scales with money, hardware, and energy. Open questions: what’s left uniquely human (extrapolation beyond training data, creativity)? Will continuous learning arrive? Will autonomous businesses emerge (agents with crypto wallets paying for their own servers, hiring humans via “rent-a-human” services)? Predictions from one host: about 5× productivity now, ~20× by end of 2026, ~100× in 2027, driven by background agents running overnight. Developers become orchestrators and environment engineers in the medium term, entry-level jobs get much harder, and deep CS fundamentals matter for the last 5%. Advice to R&D orgs: invest now in internal platforms, environments, and docs for agents.
